From Australia to Mallorca, the best cycling experience in Europe.

From down under to cycling in Mallorca

We recently had a fantastic time with a group who travelled from Australia for a cycling holiday in Mallorca. We planned an unforgettable weeks riding showcasing the best cycling this beautiful island has to offer…plus much, much more.

How the journey began.

From the initial emails with the group we arranged a zoom call to discuss the groups needs for the week. It was clear that they wanted an unforgettable cycling trip to Mallorca where they could experience not just the wonderful cycling but also the cuisine and the culture.

Location

We started planning the trip by offering our expert advice on a location and where to be based. For us the number one cycling destination for cycling and ticking the boxes of the groups needs were to be based in the town of Puerto de Pollença. A great cycling location but also a beautiful town to relax when off the bike. Puerto de Pollença offers lots of cycling friendly hotels with amazing views, delicious breakfast options and flexible times for cyclists who want to leave early in the warm September heat.

Hotel

We hand picked a local partner with a luxury feel and in appearance in Puerto de Pollenca. We wanted our guests to feel like they were walking into a hotel with a touch of style but at the same time feeling comfortable and relaxed. The hotel provides incredible views of the bay and is within walking distance of many delightful restaurants and bars. With comfy rooms and beds for a good nights sleep we hoped everyone would be feeling recovered from travelling and ready to roll the next day.

Cycling in Mallorca

As you may know cycling in Mallorca is an inspiring destination to visit. With rolling country lanes to breathtaking mountain views, cycling in Mallorca has a little something for everyone. We wanted to divide our riding time to give our guests a taste of everything Mallorca has to offer. A cycling experience in Mallorca doesn’t have to be big and hard rides everyday. It can be punchy coastline riding or laps around the outdoor velodrome in Sinue. Our week consisted of just over 400km and included the iconic Sa Calobra and The West Coast Dream Ride where we shuttled our riders to the other side of the island. One of guests exclaimed ‘The best 40km he has ridden in the world!’ Our bespoke cycling week certainly delivered an unforgettable cycling experience in Mallorca.

Off the bike

Cycling in Mallorca isn’t alway about the bike it’s also about the culture and cuisine. We arranged a welcome dinner for our guests plus a local winery to try and then a final farewell lunch to send everyone off with everlasting memories of cycling in Mallorca. When resting off the bikes Puerto de Pollenca has lots to offer. The sea is at your feet and the sun is on your back. You can relax at a local cafe or you can stroll the famous pine walk. The beauty of Puerto de Pollenca is for all to see and to enjoy with a smug smile on your face whilst you leave all your stresses behind even if it is just for a week. We also recommend a day trip to Palma to discover the old town or if you want something more relaxing book a massage to ease those weary cycling legs. Whatever our guests decided during the week we were more than happy to arrange to maximise their cycling experience in Mallorca.
