About the bike.

The Basso geometry
Astra’s geometry is the most complete Basso of all, derived from the steel models. A bike which has improved year after year, preserving the racing DNA but making it transversal and able to adapt to those who don’t want a super racing feel every day. Below is everything you need to know about Mallorca Cycling Holidays bike hire.
What sizing are you?
When booking your bike please check the Basso Bikes geometry. The sizing may be different to the current bike you ride. If on the line of the sizing we recommend you size down.
What gear ratios are fitted on the bikes and what type of components are on the bikes?
Our bikes come with a 50 /34 compact chain set. The cassettes are 11-34. All the bikes are equipped with Shimano 12 speed Ultegra di2 with disc brakes.
How are the brake set up?
All brakes are set up with European braking. Front brake will be on the left. All our bikes are with disc brakes giving extra additional braking power.
Do you provide pedals with the bike hire?
We recommend to bring your own pedals or you can hire them (€6 for up to 7 days). We have Shimano or Look pedals available.
Do you provide a saddle bag and pump with the bike hire?
We provide a saddle bag, which includes 1 x inner tubes and tyre levers. We do NOT provide a pump. Please remember to bring one.
INSURANCE AND BOOKING TERMS
We offer our own bicycle rental service, subject to the prices paid, according to the website prices advertised when booking. Mallorca Cycling Holidays has Public liability insurance in relation to the rental of bicycles whose insurance conditions are detailed by our insurance provided, Mapfre (emailed on request). The CLIENT assumes that he will care for the use of the bicycle and that he will not break the rules of circulation and traffic that are governed by Royal Decree 1428/2003, of November 21, which approves the General Regulation of Circulation for the application and development of the articulated text of the Law on traffic, circulation of motor vehicles and road safety, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 339/1990, of March 2. The CLIENT will be responsible for any damage that occurs to the bicycle derived from misuse and/or traffic infractions that are attributable to them during the hire period.
Accidental damage insurance is mandatory. This insurance covers any accidental damage that may occur to the bike during the rental period. Minor superficial damages to the frame, wheels, saddle, tires, and components are considered accidental damages. However, it does not cover irreparable damage to components on the bike. In cases where the bike is misused, crashed, or poorly treated, the customer may be held liable for a repair charge of €250.00. For irreparable damage to frame or wheels a quote will be provided and a repair charge will be presented to the customer. Please note, a replacement bike will only be provided subject to availability and no refund will be given if a bike can not be provided if the customer is deemed responsible for irreparable damage to the bike during the hire period. The insurance fee is €15 per hire for up to a 7-day rental, and €20 per hire for rentals of 8 days or more. The customer assumes responsibility for the rented bike, and we are not liable for any accidents or crashes. If the bike is stolen due to inadequate security measures, the customer will be responsible for reimbursing the bike’s wholesale value.
For any complaints regarding services or equipment, please contact the rental company directly.
We allow date changes up to 30 days before the scheduled arrival. In the event of trip cancellation, a credit valid for 12 months or an invoice for holiday insurance claim will be provided. If an invoice is requested for an insurance claim, the credit becomes non-usable. Bike rentals cannot be transferred to another person within 30 days of the booking start date. Cancellations made after 7 days from booking are non-refundable, with a 7-day grace period only applicable to pre-booked bikes reserved 30 days in advance. Cancellations for on-site bookings made at the shop do not qualify for refunds or credits, and the reservation cannot be transferred. Credits for canceled pre-booked bikes before the 30-day period will be equal to the original booking cost. The 12-month credit period starts from the booking start date and expires 12 months later.
To change your booking, contact clubhouse@mallorcacycling.co.uk. If uncertain of new dates upon cancellation, a 14-day re-booking window will be open until the trip can be rescheduled.

Is it law to wear a helmet in Mallorca?
It is a law to wear a helmet whilst cycling in Mallorca. Please don’t forget to bring your helmet.
What Should I bring with me?
Please bring your shoes, helmet and Garmin/Wahoo mount if you use one. If you would like to use your own saddle this can be swapped on arrival. Please don’t forget to take it home with you.
What time and where can I collect and return the bike?
We open at 08.00-13.00 then 15.00-19.00. Please return the bike by 18.00 on your last day. Our bike hire shop is located on the ground floor of Cabot Pollenca Park and Spa, Carrer del Bot, 5, 07470 Pollença, Illes Balears
